Feral Pest Animal Control offers baiting services using approved tools — including 1080, pindone, PAPP and registered RHDV releases — to reduce damage from rabbits, foxes, wild dogs, pigs and other pest species. All baiting is performed by trained and accredited operators and delivered in line with Australian and NSW regulations and best-practice procedures.
Baiting is a proven, cost-effective method for rapidly reducing populations of widespread feral pests across large or difficult-to-access properties. When used correctly it protects crops, vines, pastures, fences and native biodiversity by reducing ongoing damage and breeding rates. Baiting is one tool in an integrated pest management program and is most effective when combined with monitoring, exclusion and follow-up control.
1080 (sodium fluoroacetate): Widely used for fox and wild dog control; strictly regulated and classed as a restricted pesticide. Use is governed by APVMA directions and state pesticide control orders.
Pindone: Commonly applied for rabbit control; authorised users must follow APVMA registrations and relevant state orders
PAPP (para-aminopropiophenone): Approved for fox control in many jurisdictions as an alternative to 1080 for specific operations.
RHDV (Rabbit Haemorrhagic Disease Virus): Registered biological control available for rabbit management; releases and use are managed through state agencies and specific release programs.
Important: we never provide purchase or handling instructions publicly. All chemical and biological control work is delivered only by operators with current accreditation and under required permits and product label directions.
All baiting operations are conducted only by operators who have completed the required vertebrate pesticide induction / AQF3 chemical accreditation or equivalent. This training is mandatory to acquire and use 1080, pindone, PAPP or RHDV baits in NSW.
We follow NSW and national Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and pesticide control orders for each product and pest type to minimise non-target risk and comply with record-keeping obligations.
All work is fully insured, with documented JSEA, site risk assessments, signage and neighbour notifications where required by legislation or best practice.

Q: Can you bait anywhere on my property?
A: Baiting locations are selected based on risk, legal constraints, and non-target protection. Some areas may be unsuitable — alternatives will be recommended.
Q: Do you do baiting for kangaroos?
A: Kangaroo management is subject to specific permits and quotas and is handled under separate wildlife management frameworks — we can advise and assist with lawful options.
Q: Will neighbours be notified?
A: Where required by legislation or best practice we provide neighbour notification, signage and documentation to reduce accidental exposure to non-target animals or domestic pets.
We do not provide operational instructions, supply of restricted pesticides, or unlicensed services to the public. All baiting and biological control work is performed by accredited personnel, strictly in accordance with APVMA registrations, NSW pesticide control orders, and Local Land Services requirements. Non-compliant use of restricted pesticides is illegal and dangerous.
Using baits isn't just a set and forget option. Baiting needs to be conducted over a period of time within the authorised timeframes that include in some cases free feeding and collection and disposal of unconsumed baits.
